Repeat prescriptions must be requested by means of returning the tear off slip attached to your earlier prescription and place in the prescription box.
Please give 48 hour notice for repeat prescription.
For your own safety and security, no verbal or telephone requests will be taken. Please be mindful about weekends and Bank Holidays since you may have to put in a request well in advance.
Internet repeat scripts are available. If you have registered for this service you can access it on the link above
The practice now offers an Electronic Prescription Service. You may either register for this service at the practice or you preferred Pharmacy. The patient still requests their repeat prescriptions the usual way, but we can now send your prescription electronically to your nominated Pharmacy. This enables you to go straight to the Pharmacy to collect your medication instead of calling into the surgery to collect your paper repeat prescription. For futher infomation please ask at the practice or your local Pharmacy.
This service still requires 48 hours notice.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
From 1 April 2014 the charges are:
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC. The charge for a single prescription item is £8.25, whereas a three month PPC will cost you £29.10 and a 12 month PPC £104.00.
PPCs are available by 10 monthly direct debit instalments payments. The prescription payment certificates allow anyone to obtain all the prescriptions for £2 per week
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Wasted Medicine is everyone's responsibility and there are small changes you can make to help reduce the amount of medicine being wasted.
These savings could be reinvested into more front line care and services that benefit all.
Unused medication cannot be recycled. It must be thrown away, whether or not the packaging has been opened.
DID YOU KNOW:
Unused prescription medication cost the NHS in the UK an estimated £300million each year. This could pay for........
11,778 More Community Nurses or

A message for all our Patients:
